Mr Ian Pearce
BMed (Sci), BMBS, FRCS (Urol)
Ian has been a consultant urological surgeon since 2002. He graduated from The University of Nottingham Medical School in 1993. After basic surgical training in the Midlands he continued his specialist Urological training in the North West prior to being appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Ian has trained in all the prominent urological centres within the North West Region and has developed a subspecialist interest in Andrology and functional urology including male bladder and benign prostate problems, female incontinence and chronic bladder conditions. He has published on all of these areas with over 30 peer review publications in the last 5 years.
Ian is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, (BAUS) and serves on the Executive committee of the Section of Female, Neurological and Urodynamic Urology as well as the BAUS Education Committee and the BAUS Audit Committee. He is a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee in both Urology and Core Surgery and is an Examiner for the FRCS (Urol).
He serves on the publication committee of the International Continence Society having previously sat on the Ethics committee for both this organisation and his local hospital trust.
